Salle Policies

Customs and Courtesies - as an amateur sport, fencing has a long history of courtesy and good sportsmanship.  We believe that history is important to the enjoyment of swordplay.  Therefore, members of the Salle and visitors are expected to conduct themselves in accordance with established Salle customs and courtesies.

Coaching Ethics - as a condition of our status as a United States Fencing Coaches Association Guild Academy we adhere to the Coaching Ethics Code of the United States Olympic Committee.

Coaching Ethics - as a condition of our status as a Classical Fencing School accredited by the Classical Academy of Arms we adhere to the Code of Ethics of the Classical Academy of Arms.

Coaching Ethics - as a condition of our offering martial arts instruction in the cane and Asian weapons we adhere to the Professional Martial Artist Code of Ethics of the Martial Arts Teachers' Association.

Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus - the Salle has in place policies to reduce the potential from infection from this serious health hazard.

Online Privacy Policy - your privacy is important to us. To better protect your privacy we provide this notice explaining our online information practices and the choices you can make about the way your information is collected and used.

Payment Policies - As a business, we incur significant costs simply to open the door and provide a space in which to fence.  Therefore, we cannot provide fencing instruction or the opportunity to fence others in weekend open fencing or Salle tournaments without charging for those services.  In addition to our current price card, these policies apply to payments.

Safety - the safety of our students and coaches is paramount.  The safety policy establishes a six phase approach to safety and assigns responsibilities to coaches and students.  The Safety Policy is supported by specific Safety Rules.
